Marvell TechnologyJob Title
Physical Design Intern - Master's Degree
Role Summary
Work on physical implementation of ASIC/SoC designs as part of Marvell's central physical design team. The role supports RTL-to-GDS flow tasks including floorplanning, placement, clock-tree synthesis, routing, timing closure, and physical verification for AI infrastructure chips.
This is a hands-on internship focused on block-level layout, timing closure and verification for advanced semiconductor designs.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Internship). Intended for current Master's students; prior industry experience not required.
Responsibilities
Typical internship assignments include:
- Block-level layout implementation and timing closure.
- Static timing and crosstalk analysis.
- Synthesis and physical synthesis support.
- Power, IR and EM analysis.
- Physical verification (LVS/DRC/ERC/ANT) and ECO implementation.
- Collaborate with design and verification teams to advance the RTL-to-GDS flow.
Requirements
Must-have skills and attributes:
- Basic understanding of semiconductor devices and electronic circuits.
- Experience with scripting/programming (Tcl, Perl, Python or similar).
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, effective team member with good verbal and written communication skills.
- May require eligibility to access export-controlled technology under applicable law.
Nice-to-have:
