Physical Design Engineer / STA
Role Summary
Perform full-chip and IP physical design implementation from RTL to GDS for SoC and custom IP, focusing on static timing analysis (STA) and signoff. Work within the physical design team to ensure manufacturable designs that meet timing, power, area, and reliability targets.

Responsibilities
The role covers end-to-end physical implementation, verification, and signoff tasks. Key responsibilities include:
- Implement physical design flow: synthesis, floorplanning, placement, routing, and clock tree synthesis (CTS).
- Perform static timing analysis (STA) and timing closure for IP and SoC designs.
- Conduct signoff activities: formal equivalence checks, STA signoff, layout verification, DRC/LVS, and electrical rule checking.
- Analyze power, power distribution, noise, and reliability; propose fixes and architectural changes.
- Optimize designs for power, frequency, and area.
- Support DFT and structural design checks as part of signoff flow.
- Contribute to development and automation of physical design methodologies and flows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Hands-on experience with the full physical design flow (synthesis, P&R, CTS, STA).
- Proficiency with industry-standard EDA tools for placement/routing, STA, LVS/DRC, and signoff.
- Experience in timing closure, clock tree design, multi-power-domain analysis, and power integrity.
- Experience with formal equivalence verification and DFT for signoff.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret results and recommend fixes.
- Ability to optimize designs for power, performance, and area and to document methodology improvements.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with SoC-level integration and custom IP flows.
- Scripting/automation skills to improve flow efficiency.
