Physical AI Distinguished Solutions Architect
Lattice SemiconductorJob Title
Physical AI Distinguished Solutions Architect
Role Summary
Executive-level individual contributor in the Architecture organization responsible for defining and driving next-generation product and solution strategy for Lattice's Physical AI markets. The role bridges FPGA technology with GPUs/XPUs, sensors, actuation, and real-time control to create compelling solution narratives for robotics, humanoids, AMRs, UAVs, and related systems.
The architect partners with business development, sales, product planning, R&D, and ecosystem partners to identify FPGA insertion opportunities, lead technical customer engagements, and produce reference designs and demonstrators that enable design wins.
Experience Level
Senior - 8+ years of relevant experience in FPGA, programmable logic, digital computing, embedded silicon software, robotics, or autonomous systems.
Responsibilities
Lead technical strategy, customer engagements, and cross-functional alignment to grow Lattice's presence in physical AI and robotics markets.
- Define and own technical solution narratives and next-generation architectures for humanoids, cobots, AMRs, UAVs, and related physical AI platforms.
- Translate customer requirements and market challenges into actionable solution concepts and reference designs.
- Lead discovery sessions, requirements analysis, and solution-design workshops with system architects and OEMs.
- Drive architecture-level design wins in partnership with business development and sales teams.
- Specify FPGA-to-GPU/XPU integration strategies, embedded OS architecture, and sensor-aggregation approaches.
- Architect distributed deterministic control, partitioning workloads across accelerators, CPUs, MCUs, and FPGAs.
- Define real-time control, sensor fusion, motion planning, and sub-millisecond latency control-loop strategies.
- Define functional safety and security architectures (secure boot, runtime trust, fault detection) aligned to standards such as IEC 61508, ISO 13849, and ISO 10218.
- Develop demonstrators, subsystem reference platforms, and proof-of-concept implementations.
- Represent Lattice at industry events and build relationships with GPU/XPU and embedded OS ecosystem partners.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience required to perform the role effectively.
- Proven experience with FPGA and programmable-logic solutions in embedded or robotics systems.
- Deep understanding of system architecture connecting sensors, actuators, FPGAs, GPUs/XPUs, and real-time control.
- Experience with sensor processing, perception pipelines, motion control, and actuator coordination.
- Knowledge of embedded OS, firmware integration, and partner ecosystems (e.g., NVIDIA, QNX, Wind River, Green Hills).
- Experience translating customer workloads and system bottlenecks into silicon, IP, firmware, or platform requirements.
- Ability to lead technical workshops, engage senior customer architects, and present to C-level stakeholders.
- Familiarity with safety and cybersecurity considerations in human-safe robotic systems.
- Demonstrated track record driving design wins, reference designs, or commercial adoption of platform solutions.
- Willingness to undergo background and reference checks and provide proof of right to work in the United States.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. Preferred: a graduate degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field. (Degree requirements specified in the source.)
