Peripherals (Ethernet) Validation Engineer - Staff / Sr. Lead / Senior Engineer
QualcommJob Title
Peripherals (Ethernet) Validation Engineer - Staff / Sr. Lead / Senior Engineer
Role Summary
Validate Ethernet IP and related SoC features across pre-silicon, emulation and post-silicon environments. Work with IP architecture, design, systems and software teams to translate requirements into test plans, execute bring-up and root-cause complex hardware/software issues, and ensure production readiness.
Experience Level
Senior-level engineer. Typically requires multiple years of ASIC validation or related experience (commonly 4+ years in practice for this level).
Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive validation and debug for Ethernet and SoC-level features across development stages.
- Develop, execute and maintain validation plans and test content for Ethernet IP and SoC features across pre-silicon, emulation and post-silicon flows.
- Collaborate with IP architecture, design, systems and software teams to define validation requirements and test strategies.
- Lead bring-up, system integration, debug and root-cause analysis of cross-functional hardware, driver and platform issues.
- Drive coverage goals for functional correctness, performance, power behavior and production readiness.
- Operate lab instrumentation and traffic generation equipment during validation and debug.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for the role.
- Hands-on experience with Ethernet controllers, NIC architectures or similar IP (PCIe experience relevant).
- Proficiency in bare-metal and Linux driver development; strong C/C++ programming and debugging skills.
- Solid understanding of embedded systems, SoC architecture, peripheral subsystems and hardware/software interaction.
- Experience validating complex SoC features across functional, performance, power and system-level scenarios.
- Practical use of lab and debug tools such as Lauterbach TRACE32, oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers and traffic-generation equipment.
- Preferred: exposure to AI server interconnects or protocols such as ESUN/UEC, UALink.
Education Requirements
Qualifications state one of the following: Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or related field with 4+ years of relevant ASIC design/verification/validation/integration experience; OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience; OR PhD in Science, Engineering or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience.
