Peripherals (Ethernet) Validation Engineer – Senior Engineer
Role Summary
Lead validation of Ethernet IP and related SoC features across pre-silicon, emulation and post-silicon environments. Work within the ASICS Engineering / Engineering Group to design and execute validation plans, debug complex integration issues, and ensure features meet functional, performance, power and production-readiness goals.

Responsibilities
Accountabilities for this role include planning, executing and driving validation activities and resolving system-level issues.
- Develop, execute and maintain validation plans for Ethernet IP and SoC-level features across pre-silicon, emulation and post-silicon platforms.
- Translate validation requirements from architecture and design teams into robust test content and coverage goals.
- Lead bring-up, debug and root-cause analysis for cross-functional issues spanning hardware, drivers and platform integration.
- Validate functional correctness, performance, power behavior and production readiness through comprehensive coverage and metrics.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and hands-on lab experience. Education/degree requirements are summarized separately below.
- Hands-on experience with Ethernet controllers, NIC architectures or PCIe-based IP.
- Proficiency in bare-metal and Linux driver development; strong C/C++ programming and debugging skills.
- Solid understanding of embedded systems, SoC architecture, peripheral subsystems and hardware/software interaction.
- Experience validating complex SoC features across functional, performance, power and system-level scenarios.
- Practical experience with lab and debug tools such as Lauterbach TRACE32, oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers and traffic-generation equipment.
- Nice-to-have: exposure to AI server interconnects and protocols (for example ESUN/UEC, UALink).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or a related field plus 2+ years of ASIC design/verification/validation/integration experience; OR Master’s degree in Science, Engineering or related field plus 1+ year of relevant experience; OR PhD in Science, Engineering or related field. Equivalent combinations of education and practical experience consistent with these options are acceptable.
