Job Title

Performance Analysis Engineer

Role Summary

Join Arm's performance analysis team to evaluate and improve performance of Arm-based automotive systems across pre-silicon (virtual prototypes and FPGAs) and post-silicon environments. The role focuses on identifying bottlenecks, validating performance characteristics, and guiding hardware and software optimizations.

The team partners with SoC, firmware and software engineers to reproduce issues, validate fixes, and deliver measurable performance improvements.

Experience Level

Mid-level (typical 3–7 years experience).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Profile and analyze performance on virtual prototypes, FPGA platforms, and post-silicon systems.
  • Develop and maintain performance models, benchmarks, and analysis tooling.
  • Identify system and microarchitectural bottlenecks and recommend hardware/software optimizations.
  • Work cross-functionally with SoC, firmware, and software teams to reproduce and resolve performance issues.
  • Automate data collection, parsing, and visualization to support analysis at scale.
  • Document findings and present clear, actionable reports to engineering stakeholders.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Experience in performance analysis for embedded, SoC, or automotive systems.
  • Familiarity with Arm architecture and performance counters or profiling tools.
  • Experience with virtual prototypes and/or FPGA-based platforms.
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming for data analysis (for example Python or shell).
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with post-silicon validation and automotive workloads.
  • Background in compiler/runtime performance, system-level modeling, or benchmarking frameworks.
