Job Title
PDE CEM Engineer
Role Summary
Work in the back-end packaging and assembly development team at Micron's Sanand fabrication facility. Own development and optimization of packaging assembly processes for new product introduction, yield, quality, and reliability.
Drive process characterization, capability improvement, and introduction of new materials, equipment and data-driven controls including AI/ML to enable predictive process control in high-volume manufacturing.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires 8+ years of semiconductor process development or backend assembly experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include leading process development, controlling capability and driving continuous improvement for packaging/assembly processes.
- Own process of record (POR), process windows, and capability (Cp/Cpk).
- Drive NPI qualification and ensure strong first-pass success for new products.
- Define process specifications: parameters, tool setup, conditions and tolerances.
- Apply DOE, SPC and Six Sigma methods to characterize and optimize processes and center key variables for robustness.
- Lead RCA, FMEA, OCAP and structured problem resolution; implement containment and corrective/preventive actions.
- Use MES, equipment and yield data to diagnose issues, improve yield, reliability and process margins.
- Integrate AI/ML and analytics to predict yield trends, detect excursions, and enable predictive process control.
- Evaluate and introduce new materials, equipment and packaging technologies to reduce cost and improve productivity.
- Develop control plans, quality metrics and capability monitoring systems; coach and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
