PCIe Post-Silicon Validation Engineer - New College Grad 2027
NVIDIAJob Title
PCIe Post-Silicon Validation Engineer - New College Grad 2027
Role Summary
Entry-level engineering role focused on post-silicon validation of PCIe and related interconnect features on NVIDIA processors. The engineer will validate hardware behavior on silicon, create test infrastructure, and analyze results to ensure design correctness.
Work is hands-on in a lab environment and requires cross-functional interaction with ASIC, software, and system teams to debug and close silicon issues.
Experience Level
Entry-level / New college graduate. Suitable for candidates just completing or recently completed a BS/MS degree; approximately 0β2 years' experience expected.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning and executing post-silicon validation and building the verification infrastructure.
- Define validation scope and develop post-silicon test plans and coverage targets.
- Execute tests on silicon using lab equipment (logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.).
- Develop scripts and tools to automate tests and analyze captured data.
- Implement test cases and coverage plans to validate design correctness.
- Debug and triage hardware, firmware, and system-level issues; reproduce and document failures.
- Collaborate with ASIC, software, and system teams to resolve defects and improve validation flows.
- Maintain and improve post-silicon test infrastructure and documentation.
Requirements
Essential technical skills and experience for the role. Equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
- Exposure to design and verification tools (e.g., VCS or equivalent simulation tools) and debug tools (e.g., Debussy, GDB).
- Experience with bus protocols or interconnect verification (PCI Express, SATA, USB, or similar).
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and hands-on hardware bring-up and debugging.
- Proficiency in scripting or programming (Python and/or Perl).
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Nice-to-have: experience with post-silicon automation, test coverage methodologies, or lab automation frameworks.
Education Requirements
Pursuing or recently completed a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, ECE, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Role is targeted at new college graduates (class of 2027).
