PCIe Applications Engineer, Sr Staff
Role Summary
Senior applications engineer on the Engineering team based in Hsinchu, supporting customer integration of high-speed interface IP (PCIe, CXL, Ethernet) across SoC development. The role covers pre-silicon integration, silicon bring-up, mass-production debug, training, and feedback to R&D.
Experience Level
Senior — minimum 5 years of IP and/or ASIC Design, Verification, or Applications experience as stated in the posting.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include customer-facing integration and technical support across the SoC lifecycle.
- Support full SoC design flow from architecture through silicon bring-up and mass production debug.
- Collaborate with customers to define requirements and implement customizations.
- Provide integration training and review customer SoC milestones.
- Provide product feedback to Synopsys R&D and participate in IIP design reviews.
- Develop tools and automation to improve daily engineering efficiency.
- Author application notes for gate-level simulation, silicon debug, and physical implementation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience required for effective performance in this role.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in IP and/or ASIC design, verification, or applications.
- Hands-on RTL coding in Verilog; experience with simulation, synthesis, static timing analysis, and equivalence checking.
- Domain knowledge of PCI Express, CXL, and Ethernet protocols.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English for customer interaction.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with silicon bring-up, mass-production debug, or SoC architecture reviews.
- Experience developing internal tools or automation for engineering workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
