Packaging Engineering Intern

Role Summary

Internship within Qorvo's Global Operations Packaging Engineering group. The intern will support R&D and continuous improvement initiatives related to semiconductor packaging processes (back grinding, dicing, DTR) and tooling characterization.

Experience Level

Intern β€” intended for current college students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs; entry-level position for students.

Responsibilities

Work directly with engineering staff on process development, measurement, and automation tasks.

  • Assist with back grinding, dicing, and die tape release (DTR) process work for R&D and continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to image-analysis or programming initiatives to advance DTR inspection.
  • Characterize small R&D products and process elements (tooling, films, DTR pocket tapes) using solid modeling and laser metrology.
  • Hands-on learning and support of semiconductor assembly processes onsite.
  • Support documentation and continuous improvement activities (A3s, Lean) and prepare presentations for stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage tasks and drive resolution with limited supervision.
  • Comfortable working onsite and performing hands-on lab/process tasks.
  • Not eligible for visa sponsorship; candidates must have appropriate authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Compensation: hourly range listed by employer: $31/hr - $42/hr.

Education Requirements

Internship targeted to students currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program. Posting explicitly mentions BS (Bachelor of Science) in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering. (Enrollment in a relevant engineering degree program required.)
