Packaging Engineer
Role Summary
Drive IC package and power module development for new and existing products. Collaborate with IC and module designers, reliability, business units, and supply chain to deliver manufacturable, reliable package solutions. Role is based in San Jose, CA.

Senior-level - requires at least 15 years of industrial experience in related fields.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include package and module design, layout, design rule management, and project delivery.
- Design and optimize analog IC packages across multiple package platforms and assembly/bumping processes.
- Design and optimize power modules for performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
- Perform substrate and PCB layout for various package types.
- Define, maintain, and advance package design rules for emerging platforms and power modules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide package engineering support.
- Plan and drive package development projects to on-time delivery.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- At least 15 years of industrial experience in analog IC package and module development.
- Hands-on experience in package and module layout, design, optimization, and manufacturing.
- Proficient with layout and CAD tools such as Cadence APD and AutoCAD.
- Experience creating package models and drawings with CAD tools for development, simulation, and documentation.
- Knowledge of IC package reliability requirements, failure analysis techniques, and assembly process issues.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering is required. The role also specifies at least 15 years of industrial working experience in related fields.
