OMT RAM NPI RDA Application Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for enabling inspection and application solutions and performing data analysis to support DRAM new product introduction (NPI) and high-volume manufacturing. The role partners with process integration, process engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to drive manufacturing readiness, yield improvement, and robust inline monitoring strategies.
Work includes developing application strategies, supporting technology transfers and ramps, analyzing inspection and yield data, and implementing continuous improvement to improve production stability and yield.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include deploying inspection solutions, monitoring manufacturing, and using data to support yield and process stability.
- Develop, qualify, and sustain inspection and application solutions for DRAM NPI and high-volume manufacturing.
- Design and enable inline monitoring strategies for defect detection, yield learning, and early issue identification.
- Analyze manufacturing, inspection, and yield data to identify trends, gaps, and potential yield limiters.
- Support root-cause investigations for yield excursions using data-driven, structured problem-solving methods.
- Drive continuous yield improvement and production-stability initiatives with cross-functional teams.
- Support technology transfers and new-product ramps to ensure inspection readiness and monitoring coverage.
- Evaluate and qualify new tools, capabilities, and methodologies to improve inspection effectiveness.
- Collaborate with global engineering and supplier partners to resolve technical issues and improve manufacturing performance.
- Standardize and improve inspection methodologies, application strategies, and best practices; document findings and lessons learned.

Preferred / Nice-to-have: Semiconductor manufacturing or DRAM NPI experience; hands-on experience with electron beam inspection (EBI) or advanced inline inspection systems (setup, recipe development, tuning, qualification, sustainment); experience developing/optimizing EBI recipes; proficiency in programming/scripting or analysis tools (e.g., Python, JMP); familiarity with layout-based analysis tools such as KLayout; experience with FA, DOE, SPC, FMEA, 8D or similar quality methodologies; proven track record of measurable yield improvements or defect reduction initiatives.

Behavioral: Independent drive for technical investigations while collaborating with global teams and proposing process improvements.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field (Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or closely related discipline). Preferred: advanced degree or equivalent industry experience in semiconductor manufacturing, yield engineering, inspection, or application-related roles. Equivalent practical industry experience accepted as noted in preferred qualifications.
