Job Title

NVIDIA 2027 New College Graduate β€” Hardware ASIC Engineering (Shanghai, China)

Role Summary

Entry-level hardware ASIC engineering positions across NVIDIA's Shanghai hardware teams. New college graduates will work on IP, SoC, verification, physical design, validation and related engineering tasks under senior mentorship.

This role provides hands-on engineering experience on ASIC design and verification projects within a high-performance computing and AI hardware environment.

Experience Level

Entry-level (new college graduate). Appropriate for candidates with limited industry experience or internship experience β€” typically 0–1 years.

Responsibilities

Typical assignments vary by team; examples below reflect common responsibilities for new graduate hardware ASIC engineers.

  • Design and verify IP blocks and SoC components, including multimedia and networking IP.
  • Participate in custom SoC design and verification flows.
  • Support architectural power and energy-efficiency modeling and tradeoff analysis.
  • Contribute to DFT, formal verification, and verification methodology development.
  • Perform post-silicon validation, silicon instrumentation, measurement, and debug.
  • Work on CAD and physical design tasks: floorplanning, power/clock distribution, P&R and timing closure under guidance.

Requirements

Target candidates should demonstrate relevant coursework, internship experience, or practical exposure in ASIC-related areas. Strong fundamentals and hands-on practice are emphasized over marketing attributes.

  • Coursework or internship experience in digital systems, digital/VLSI design, RTL design, or chip blueprinting.
  • Experience or familiarity with computer architecture, computer arithmetic, and CMOS transistor/circuit fundamentals.
  • Experience with performance, verification, and emulation methodology; testbench creation.
  • Familiarity with hardware verification methodologies, particularly UVM, and working knowledge of formal verification tools.
  • Fundamental knowledge of hardware and board-level design (power integrity, signal integrity, PCB-level design).
  • Exposure to CAD and physical design methodologies, tool flows, and timing closure is desirable.

Education Requirements

Expected to graduate in 2027 with a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
