Job Title
NVIDIA 2027 Internships: Computer Architecture
Role Summary
12-week, full-time internship on NVIDIA's Computer Architecture team. Interns execute hands-on projects that contribute to GPU/CPU architecture, memory systems, or performance engineering and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
Applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis; interns work on projects with measurable impact to product and research efforts.
Experience Level
Entry-level (internship).
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities for the internship include:
- Design, implement, and test RTL models or high-level prototypes for architecture experiments.
- Set up and run simulations, benchmarks, and performance experiments.
- Profile, model, and analyze system or microarchitectural performance; identify bottlenecks and propose improvements.
- Develop software or scripts for experimentation (C/C++, Python, CUDA, shell/Linux tooling).
- Work with software and hardware teams to integrate and validate designs.
- Document results and present technical findings to engineering stakeholders.
Requirements
Availability and relevant technical background; specific technologies listed are desirable depending on the role.
- Available to work full-time for a 12-week internship period.
- Relevant course or internship experience in one or more of: Computer Graphics, Deep Learning, Ray Tracing, Parallel Programming, Memory Architecture, High-Performance Computing, Digital Systems, VLSI Design, GPU/CPU Architecture, Computer Organization, or Computer System Design.
- Familiarity with programming and tools such as Verilog/SystemVerilog/VHDL, C/C++, Python, CUDA, Linux, GPU computing frameworks (OpenCL), and modern graphics APIs (DirectX, OpenGL, Vulkan).
- Experience with revision control and HPC tools (Git, Perforce, MPI, OpenMP) is useful.
- Ability to run experiments, analyze data, and communicate technical results clearly.
- Nice-to-have: experience with GPU acceleration, embedded systems, hardware control programming, performance modeling, or scripting languages (Perl, Python).
- Intern hourly pay range: 20 USD - 71 USD.
Education Requirements
Must be actively enrolled and pursuing a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field for the full duration of the internship; anticipated graduation date (month and year) must be clearly indicated on the resume or CV.
