NPU Software Development Intern
Role Summary
Work as an AI software engineering intern on NPU compiler components focused on the NPU Cost Model. You will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of AI software used for machine learning and computer vision workloads within the Silicon and Platform Engineering Group.
This is a part-time, hybrid internship based in Timisoara that provides hands-on compiler and AI software engineering experience.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing and supporting the NPU Cost Model as a subcomponent of the NPU Compiler.
- Implement and maintain C++ code for NPU compiler subcomponents (NPU Cost Model).
- Integrate and test model changes with compiler infrastructure and AI workloads.
- Collaborate with engineers to define requirements and validate implementations.
- Document designs, experiments, and results.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and attributes:
- Solid knowledge of C++ programming.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and able to learn quickly.
Preferred:
- Basic knowledge of Python.
- Understanding of AI fundamentals (machine learning / deep learning / computer vision).
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field (ideally graduating in 2028).
