NPU AI Processor Synthesis Engineer - Sr Lead
Role Summary
Senior hardware engineering role on NPU/AI processor synthesis and bring-up. The engineer will plan, design, simulate, verify, and test electronic systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet performance, yield, and schedule targets.
Experience Level
Senior. Preferred experience is 5+ years in hardware engineering; minimum experience expectations per education level are summarized in Education Requirements below.
Responsibilities
Key duties include design, verification, characterization, and production bring-up for advanced NPU/AI hardware.
- Plan, optimize, verify, and test electronic systems including digital/analog/RF/optical circuits, FPGA/DSP, equipment, and packaging.
- Integrate features into hardware designs to meet roadmap and product requirements.
- Perform complex simulations and analyses to optimize power, performance, and area.
- Collaborate with design, verification, validation, software, systems engineering, and architecture teams to incorporate requirements and test solutions.
- Evaluate and develop manufacturing and bring-up solutions to improve yield, test time, and product quality.
- Characterize reliability of materials and processes; introduce automation and optimization to increase productivity.
- Identify potential design, compatibility, or compliance issues and document technical findings clearly.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items noted separately.
- Proven hardware engineering experience working on complex electronic systems and chip bring-up (hardware verification, characterization, or manufacturing solutions).
- Experience performing simulations and analyses to evaluate and optimize designs.
- Experience collaborating across hardware, software, and systems teams and producing detailed technical documentation.
- Experience with manufacturing bring-up, yield improvement, and test optimization for advanced-process products.
- Nice-to-have: circuit design experience (digital, analog, RF) and schematic capture / circuit simulation tool usage (~2+ years preferred).
- Nice-to-have: hands-on experience with hardware measurement instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF tools) (~2+ years preferred).
- Nice-to-have: prior technical leadership experience (e.g., leading technical work or mentoring; 1+ year preferred).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field are cited. Minimum experience tied to degree: Bachelor's +3 years, Master's +2 years, or PhD +1 year of relevant hardware engineering experience. Preferred: Master's. Equivalent practical experience considered.
