Role Summary
Responsible for RTL design of DSP/NPU/AI processor logic within the processor architecture team. Deliver RTL from specification through synthesis and collaborate with verification, physical design, and power teams to meet timing, power, and coverage targets.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The posting requests approximately 3–15 years of practical RTL development experience; minimum experience requirements vary by degree (see Education Requirements).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop RTL for multiple logic blocks of a DSP core.
- Run frontend checks for linting, clock domain crossing, synthesis, and related checks.
- Coordinate with physical design on constraints and timing closure.
- Work with power team on power optimization and UPF-driven flows.
- Collaborate with verification on test plans, coverage plans, and coverage closure.
- Support simulation, regression runs, and design partitioning activities.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred skills:
- Practical RTL development experience using VHDL and/or Verilog (approximately 3–15 years as cited).
- Experience with functional and structural RTL design, design partitioning, simulation and regression, and working with verification teams.
- Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g. ModelSim, VCS), synthesis tools (e.g. Design Compiler), and static timing tools (e.g. PrimeTime).
- Experience with linting tools, CDC tools, UPF, code coverage, and SystemVerilog Assertions.
- Understanding of the ASIC design flow from RTL to GDSII, including synthesis, static timing analysis, formal verification, and physical signoff checks.
Preferred / nice-to-have:
- Strong processor architecture knowledge and microarchitecture implementation experience.
- Microprocessor integration experience.
- Hands-on experience with low-power design techniques.
Education Requirements
