NoC (RTL) Design - Sr Lead/Staff/Sr Staff
QualcommJob Title
NoC (RTL) Design - Sr Lead/Staff/Sr Staff
Role Summary
Senior engineering role on the NoC/Interconnect core team responsible for micro-architecting, RTL design, and verification of coherent and non-coherent interconnect fabrics and related IP for next-generation SoCs.
Work closely with SoC architecture, verification, physical design, floorplan, performance and silicon-validation teams to meet functional, performance, power and security requirements across multiple product lines (smartphones, notebooks, AR/VR, automotive, servers).
Experience Level
Senior-level. Typical experience guidance from the posting: Bachelor's +8 years, Master's +7 years, or PhD +6 years in hardware engineering or related work.
Responsibilities
Design, verify and deliver interconnect fabrics and related IP; drive cross-functional integration and debug from pre-silicon through silicon.
- Define specifications, micro-architecture and RTL for coherent and non-coherent interconnects and related IP.
- Collaborate with SoC architecture, performance, DV, physical design, floorplan and core teams globally.
- Architect and implement debug hooks and infrastructure to support silicon root-cause analysis.
- Develop robust, scalable verification environments: testplans, stimulus, scoreboards and coverage closure.
- Drive functional, power-aware, performance and security verification; correlate pre-silicon results with silicon validation.
- Participate in emulation, platform bring-up and post-silicon debug across cores and SoC platforms.
- Contribute as a member of the AIP NoC/Interconnect core team and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience (education degree requirements are summarized separately below).
- Proven experience in NoC/interconnect micro-architecture and RTL design.
- Hands-on experience building verification environments and driving testplan/coverage closure for complex IP.
- Experience with performance analysis, power-aware verification and security-related verification activities.
- Strong debug skills across simulation, emulation and silicon platforms.
- Track record of cross-functional collaboration with architecture, physical design, performance and system teams.
- Ability to lead technical work, drive decisions, and mentor other engineers.
- Nice-to-have: prior work on SoC interconnects for mobile/automotive/server products and experience correlating pre- and post-silicon behavior.
Education Requirements
One of the following: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of hardware-engineering or related experience; OR Master's degree in those fields with 7+ years of experience; OR PhD in those fields with 6+ years of experience.
