Job Title

New Product Development Test Engineer (2027 New College Graduate)

Role Summary

Early-career Test Engineer on the New Product Development team responsible for developing and productizing automated test solutions for digital, analog, and mixed-signal integrated circuits. Work covers pre-silicon test strategy through silicon bring-up, qualification, manufacturing release, yield improvement, and cost reduction.

Experience Level

Entry-level / New college graduate (targeted at 2027 graduates). Suitable for candidates with minimal professional experience and internship/co-op experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Support product test engineering across the full lifecycle and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready ATE solutions.

  • Translate product requirements and datasheets into technical specifications, DFT requirements, and ATE test plans.
  • Design cost-effective ATE hardware and resource allocation to improve multisite efficiency and pin multiplexing.
  • Develop, bring up, validate, and debug automated test programs for digital, analog, and mixed-signal ICs on Advantest and Teradyne platforms.
  • Analyze test and characterization data to assess design margins, process variation, parametric performance, yield, and test-time reduction opportunities.
  • Support silicon and package qualification, process-window experiments, and product specification compliance for automotive, industrial, or commercial requirements.
  • Contribute to ATE test hardware, socket design, board schematics, layout, diagnostics, and test automation under guidance.
  • Document lessons learned and contribute reusable methods to a Standard Test Methods Library (STML).
  • Own assigned products through silicon bring-up to manufacturing release and drive ramp and yield improvement efforts.

Requirements

Core qualifications required for consideration and preferred skills that improve readiness for the role.

  • Must-have: Experience in semiconductor test, design-for-test (DFT), or integrated-circuit design.
  • Must-have: Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Perl.
  • Must-have: English fluency (written and verbal) and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Preferred / Nice-to-have:

  • Prior internship or co-op experience in semiconductor test or related areas.
  • Experience with Advantest or Teradyne ATE platforms and low-level test code development.
  • Experience testing digital, analog, or mixed-signal ICs, silicon characterization, qualification, or manufacturing ramp.
  • Knowledge of ATE architecture, socket and board design, and test automation.
  • Project management, leadership experience, strong written/verbal communication, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with applicable automotive, industrial, or commercial semiconductor qualification standards and interest in leveraging AI tools to improve workflows.

Education Requirements

Graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited program. Minimum overall 3.0 GPA required. Role targets new college graduates (2027).
