Role Summary
As a Design Engineer in the DRAM Products Group you will design, simulate, optimize, and validate memory circuits across the product lifecycle. The role sits in the Design Engineering organization and partners with verification, product engineering, test, process integration, assembly, and marketing teams.
Focus areas include circuit-level design and analysis, silicon validation, and delivering manufacturable solutions that balance performance, reliability, cost, and time-to-market.
Experience Level
Entry-level - new college graduate. Typical experience: 0β2 years.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, simulate, and optimize digital and analog memory circuits, including arrays, control logic, address decoding, datapaths, and internal test circuitry.
- Perform circuit analysis and debug using tools such as SPICE and Verilog; evaluate power, performance, area, and reliability tradeoffs.
- Analyze layout parasitics and support design rule optimization to ensure robust die-level functionality across operating conditions.
- Support test chip planning, silicon validation, characterization, and lab correlation activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional global teams and apply AI/AI-assisted tools to accelerate development and identify design improvements.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Foundational knowledge of memory architectures, memory applications, and CMOS device behavior.
- Experience with circuit simulation setup, analysis, and debug using SPICE, Verilog, or equivalent tools.
- Ability to evaluate circuit performance and resolve design-related issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical collaboration.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with memory circuit design, layout optimization, and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of CMOS process reliability considerations and design limitations.
- Exposure to silicon validation, characterization, test chip development, or product bring-up.
- Experience working within global, multi-functional engineering teams.
- Experience leveraging AI, generative AI, or AI-enabled tools for engineering workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering is required.
