New College Grad - Equipment Engineer
Role Summary
As a TSE KEG Hardware Engineer you will develop, qualify, and improve manufacturing equipment, hardware, software and processes used in production test locations. You will work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Test Engineering, Process Engineering, QA and suppliers to specify, integrate and qualify systems that improve cost, yield, cycle time, reliability, safety and product quality.
Experience Level
Entry-level (New college graduate); typically 0β3 years of professional experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing, developing, qualifying and supporting automated test and production equipment.
- Develop automated test equipment and manufacturing processes for new technologies and production deployments.
- Establish equipment specifications, design requirements and qualification processes.
- Collaborate with equipment vendors from concept through production ramp.
- Provide technical expertise and support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Investigate deviations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Design, fabricate, assemble and qualify new equipment designs and modifications.
- Plan and drive experiments and data collection across manufacturing sites to support data-driven decisions.
- Create equipment procedures, training materials and qualification documentation.
Requirements
Must-have:
- Ability to perform 8D and root cause analysis and regularly report findings to production and management.
- Ability to perform ROI and COO studies to assess project viability early in the lifecycle.
- Knowledge of machine/equipment design and development.
- Proficiency in statistics, data analysis and Design of Experiments (DOE).
Nice-to-have:
- Leadership or project management experience with cross-functional teams.
- Supplier management experience.
- Practical knowledge of machining, welding, surface treatments, mechanics and electrical circuits/diagrams.
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling and stress/structural, thermal or flow analysis.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn Agentic AI to improve workflow efficiency.
Education Requirements
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field, or equivalent experience and education.
