New College Grad - Design Readiness Engineer
Micron TechnologyJob Title
New College Grad - Design Readiness Engineer
Role Summary
The Design Readiness Engineer prepares new DRAM designs for validation, production readiness, and high-volume manufacturing. This role works across design, validation, product engineering, product architecture, system compatibility, and silicon strategy to identify risks, plan validation, and debug silicon issues.
Entry-level position with significant opportunity to learn DRAM design, validation, and cross-functional product readiness processes while working with experienced engineers.
Experience Level
Entry-level (New college graduate). Guidance: 0–3 years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include preparing designs before first silicon, planning validation coverage, driving root-cause and resolution of silicon findings, and improving readiness processes.
- Engage with design and product teams ahead of first silicon for pre-silicon readiness, risk assessment, and DFMEA preparation.
- Partner with Component Validation teams to plan validation coverage before silicon arrival and collaboratively debug silicon behavior once devices are available.
- Investigate and drive resolution of silicon findings to meet project milestones and product readiness expectations.
- Develop and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships with Design, Verification, Product Architecture, System Compatibility, Silicon Strategy, and Product Engineering teams.
- Identify gaps in validation, production coverage, and circuit robustness; define and implement solutions that improve product quality and readiness.
- Lead and support continuous improvement efforts to accelerate learning, execution, and implementation of lessons learned across products.
- Apply approved AI-enabled tools and methods, where appropriate, to improve workflows while ensuring human review, data protection, and responsible use.
Requirements
Minimum technical expectations and useful additional skills.
- Must-have: Understanding of electronic design concepts, device behavior, validation methods, or product engineering fundamentals.
- Must-have: Strong analytical and problem-solving ability and willingness to learn schematic review, circuit behavior analysis, and product-level debug.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with technical debug, data analysis, problem solving, or new product introduction.
- Nice-to-have: Experience coordinating multi-functional activities or leading technical workstreams.
- Nice-to-have: Ability to communicate technical topics clearly and collaborate across engineering fields; curiosity and ownership.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity or willingness to build practical AI fluency for engineering tasks, using approved AI resources responsibly.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, semiconductor engineering, or a related technical field is required.
