Networking Field Applications Engineer

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's OEM Field Applications Engineering team to validate and integrate NVIDIA networking products β€” including NICs, DPUs, switches, cables, and DOCA software β€” on OEM server platforms. The role focuses on full-cycle validation, platform setup, system-level debugging, and ensuring readiness for datacenter and edge deployments.

Responsibilities

Work hands-on across hardware and software to validate and troubleshoot networking solutions for OEM servers.

  • Develop and execute functional, regression, and stress tests for networking and GPU technologies in OEM server environments.
  • Perform hands-on debugging, firmware validation, and isolation of complex system-level issues.
  • Integrate hardware and software components and automate end-to-end testing and packaging workflows.
  • Lead technical issue scrubs to resolve manufacturing blockers, diagnostics failures, and partner concerns.
  • Provide onsite technical support and maintain lab systems to ensure platform readiness.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Deep knowledge of high-speed protocols and hardware interfaces: PCIe, RDMA/RoCE, I2C, SPI, UART, I2S, Ethernet.
  • Practical experience with OEM server hardware and OEM release/process flows.
  • Proven ability to perform firmware validation and independently resolve complex system-level problems.
  • Experience with switch configuration and network debugging.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with NVIDIA and OEM engineering teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with InfiniBand, GPUs, ARM development, and Linux systems.
  • Python programming and familiarity with DOCA, CUDA, NVIDIA drivers, and LinkX cables.
  • Experience in Data Center, HPC, or Edge environments and familiarity with machine-learning workloads.

Education Requirements

BS in Engineering or Computer Science preferred, or equivalent practical experience. Advanced degree (MS/PhD) is a plus. The posting explicitly allows equivalent industry experience in lieu of a specific degree.
