Role Summary

Join Micron Memory Japan as a NAND Designer focused on circuit and layout-level design for next-generation NAND flash products. The role is part of a cross-functional engineering team responsible for design, simulation, and optimization of base die circuitry to meet timing, area, and power targets.

Work includes circuit design/optimization, collaboration with layout and verification teams, and supporting delivery of high-performance NAND products.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Candidates are expected to have substantial experience in high-performance memory or mixed-signal circuit design; typical senior hires have multiple years of industry experience.

Responsibilities

The core responsibilities are design, simulation, and optimization of NAND flash base die circuits and collaboration with layout and verification teams.

• Design and optimize base die circuits for NAND flash (memory, logic, analog blocks).
• Perform circuit simulations using industry-standard EDA tools (e.g., FINESIM, HSPICE, Verilog).
• Analyze and optimize timing, area, and power trade-offs for NAND builds.
• Support design and implementation activities for memory arrays, page buffers, string drivers, interface/data-transfer circuits, and logic controllers.
• Collaborate closely with layout and verification teams to ensure technical alignment and execution.

• Must-have: Strong expertise in analog and mixed-signal circuit design.
• Must-have: Proven ability to solve technical problems and deliver innovative solutions in high-performance memory development.
• Must-have: Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex technical topics clearly.
• Must-have: Ability to collaborate effectively across design, layout, and verification teams.
• Nice-to-have: Hands-on experience with NAND flash operation and multiple NAND product generations.
• Nice-to-have: Prior industry experience in memory product development.
• Nice-to-have: Demonstrated teamwork and persistent, proactive problem-solving approach.

Education Requirements

Preferred: Master's degree (MS) plus 5+ years of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree (BS) plus 10+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent practical/professional experience.
