Role Summary

Design and optimize circuits for next-generation NAND flash memory, focusing on base-die development, timing/area/power trade-offs, and close collaboration with layout and verification teams. You will work on memory, logic, and analog circuits to enable high-performance NAND products.

This role sits within Micron Memory Japan's NAND development organization and contributes directly to product implementation and performance optimization.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include circuit design, simulation, and optimization for NAND flash base-die and supporting circuits.

• Design base-die circuits for NAND flash (memory arrays, page buffers, string drivers, interface and data-transfer circuits).
• Perform circuit simulations using industry-standard tools (FINESIM, HSPICE, Verilog).
• Analyze and optimize timing, area, and power for NAND builds.
• Support design, implementation, and optimization of memory, logic, and analog circuits for new NAND products.
• Collaborate closely with layout and verification teams to ensure technical alignment and execution.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and competencies; preferred items listed where applicable.

• Strong expertise in analog and mixed-signal circuit design.
• Hands-on experience with circuit simulation tools (FINESIM, HSPICE, Verilog or equivalent).
• Proven ability to analyze and optimize timing, area, and power trade-offs in high-performance memory designs.
• Demonstrated record of independently solving technical challenges in memory design and delivering innovative solutions.
• Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills; able to explain complex technical concepts clearly and logically.
• Effective collaborator and team player who works across design, layout, and verification groups.
• Preferred: practical experience in the memory industry and familiarity with NAND flash operation and multiple NAND product generations.
• Preferred: experience applying AI or automation to design or layout efficiency improvements.

Education Requirements
