NAND Cell Characterization & AI Tools Intern
Micron TechnologyJob Title
NAND Cell Characterization & AI Tools Intern
Role Summary
Join Micron's NAND Cell team at the Vimercate R&D site to develop AI-enabled tooling that automates analysis and processing of micro-probing waveform characterization data. The intern will work with cell engineers to implement ingestion, preprocessing, feature extraction, and comparison tools that support NAND product development.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship; suitable for current students or recent graduates pursuing higher education in a technical discipline.
Responsibilities
Work with engineers to design and implement modular AI tools for waveform analysis and reporting.
- Collaborate with CELL engineers to capture micro-probing workflows and waveform semantics.
- Implement modular AI components for waveform ingestion, preprocessing, and feature extraction.
- Build a structured comparison engine for 1:1 delta analysis against internal reference waveforms.
- Generate clear, structured reports and human-readable summaries for engineer review.
- Implement an engineer-in-the-loop validation interface at critical decision points.
- Validate tool robustness via test cases and iterative feedback.
- Document modules, assumptions, and usage guidelines for maintainability and IP compliance.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience to contribute effectively from day one; preferred items noted.
- Understanding of AI/ML fundamentals, including LLMs and embeddings. (Must-have)
- Proficiency in Python and/or C/C++. (Must-have)
- Basic knowledge of signal processing and time-domain waveform concepts. (Must-have)
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills. (Must-have)
- Familiarity with LLM/agent frameworks or orchestration pipelines. (Preferred)
- Knowledge of waveform processing libraries and common oscilloscope or probe data formats. (Preferred)
- Familiarity with NAND flash operations (program/erase/read, WL/BL bias schemes). (Preferred)
- Attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team. (Preferred)
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Internship allowance is determined based on the highest level of education already completed at the start of the internship.
