NAND CAD Design Environment Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and maintain internal CAD design environment tools and flows supporting circuit design, layout, simulation, and electrical checks. Deliver solutions that are released to global design and verification organizations.

The role works with global CAD teams and EDA vendors, supports design and verification groups worldwide, and provides technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop internal tools and automated flows for circuit design, layout, simulation, and electrical circuit checks.
• Collaborate with global CAD members to design, validate, and release flows to worldwide design and verification teams.
• Support design and verification teams globally by providing training and troubleshooting for flows and tools.
• Propose and implement improvements based on feedback to increase verification quality and engineering efficiency.
• Integrate and work with external EDA vendors to incorporate their tools, drive new development, and resolve tool issues.
• Use agentic AI to assist in flow development and/or embed AI agents into flows.
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to junior engineers.

Minimum expectations and preferred skills.

• Must-have: Proven experience developing CAD design environment tools and flows for circuit/layout/simulation and electrical checks; experience integrating and troubleshooting EDA vendor tools; ability to support and train design/verification teams globally; demonstrated problem-solving and communication skills; ability to mentor junior engineers.
• Nice-to-have: Experience applying automation and scripting for flow development; prior use or integration of AI/ML tools in engineering flows; familiarity with commercial EDA toolchains and vendor collaboration; Japanese language ability (helpful for a Tokyo-based role).
