MTS TD Silicon Photonics Device Engineer

Role Summary

The MTS TD Silicon Photonics Device Engineer will lead efforts in the simulation, design, and testing of silicon photonics devices. The role involves coordinating qualifications across multiple teams and providing customer support to address technology vs. design challenges.

Experience Level

Mid-level; typically requires 6-7 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, 5-6 years with a Master's, or 3-4 years with a PhD.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development of silicon photonics device components.
  • Simulating, designing, and coordinating testing for new devices.
  • Documenting and coordinating qualifications of these devices.
  • Identifying and addressing technical challenges and root causes.
  • Providing customer support and interfacing for device evaluation.
  • Ensuring all activities comply with safety and environmental standards.
  • Travel up to 10% may be required.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Optical Engineering, Material Science, Photonics, or a related field.
  • Experience in silicon photonic device design, integration, and testing.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Proactive mindset with teamwork capabilities.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

Nice-to-have qualifications include:

  • Experience with GF PDK and project management skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities.

Education Requirements

Required education is a Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or higher in a relevant field from an accredited university.
