Role Summary

The MTS Silicon Design Engineer will work within the Radeon Technologies Group (RTG) to develop next-generation GPU solutions. This role involves collaboration with architecture, software, and design teams to create innovative products for data centers and super-computers.

Experience Level

This position requires expertise in GPU architecture and a background in machine learning networks, alongside strong programming skills.

Responsibilities

  • Write and optimize GPU kernels at various levels of abstraction (assembly, Hip, Triton, etc.).
  • Develop microbenchmarks for competitive analysis and performance verification.
  • Prototype ideas across the software stack and architectural models for evaluation and validation.
  • Collect and summarize data and simulation results for use by architects and design teams.
  • Collaborate with architects to propose innovative solutions for next-generation hardware and software.

Requirements

Candidates should have a solid understanding of GPU architectures and some knowledge of CPU architectures. Experience with frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch is highly desirable, along with skills in key machine learning operators.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor of Science degree is required, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Computer Architecture, or Computer Science. Advanced degrees such as a Masters or PhD are considered advantageous.
