Job Title
MTS - RTL Verification Engineer
Role Summary
The RTL Verification Engineer will own functional verification for high-speed digital designs, developing scalable SystemVerilog/UVM environments and driving coverage closure. The role works within a verification team interfacing closely with design and cross-site teams to ensure release readiness for advanced-node memory and adjacent subsystems.
Experience Level
Senior. Years of experience not specified; role expectations include mentoring and technical leadership consistent with senior-level positions.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning and executing verification activities, building reusable verification infrastructure, and driving closure and readiness for high-speed operation.
- Define verification strategy and translate specifications into executable verification plans and closure metrics.
- Architect and implement scalable, reusable SystemVerilog/UVM verification environments.
- Drive functional and code coverage closure, including assertions and targeted stimulus.
- Lead debug and issue resolution with design and verification teams.
- Provide verification status, risk assessment, and release readiness updates.
- Ensure verification readiness for high-speed operation: initialization, reset, CDC, and mode transitions.
- Improve verification methodologies, automation, and regression efficiency.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items are listed separately.
-
Must-have: Expert knowledge of SystemVerilog and UVM, including constrained-random testing and assertions; experience with Formal Verification.
-
Must-have: Strong fundamentals in clocks, resets, FSMs, CDC, and debug techniques.
-
Must-have: Proven experience verifying high-speed digital designs in advanced process nodes.
-
Must-have: Hands-on experience with industry simulators, coverage, and debug tools.
-
Must-have: Scripting proficiency for automation (Python, Perl, or Tcl).
Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to power-aware verification.
- Experience with high-speed memory subsystems or adjacent blocks.
- Experience working with global, cross-site teams.
- Familiarity with data-driven coverage closure and tools to improve regression efficiency.
