Job Title

MTS - Reliability Engineer

Role Summary

Member of Technical Staff (MTS) in Reliability working with fab and technology development teams to define and execute reliability testing, analyze failure mechanisms, and develop reliability design rules and recommendations.

The role supports qualifications for new and advanced technologies and provides technical support to internal teams and customers to build reliability into devices and processes.

Experience Level

Senior β€” minimum 7 years of semiconductor reliability experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include reliability test planning, execution, analysis, risk assessment and documentation:

  • Define qualification plans, determine test conditions, and design hardware/software for special test requests.
  • Design, characterize and refine reliability test structures and layout rules for qualification.
  • Execute reliability testing, analyze results, and provide recommendations for process and product improvements.
  • Benchmark reliability testing methodologies and qualification criteria.
  • Establish reliability test requirements for new/advanced technologies and support customers on reliability integration.
  • Assess reliability risk for process changes, fab excursions and field failures.
  • Develop and apply models for HCI, NBTI, TDDB, PID, EM and BEOL TDDB to support designers' risk assessments.
  • Define, document and maintain test procedures, findings and tools; train reliability staff.
  • Perform all work in accordance with Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience (concise):

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in semiconductor reliability.
  • Practical knowledge of reliability failure mechanisms (e.g., gate oxide, transistor device, BEOL TDDB) and reliability testing methodologies.
  • Experience in reliability test structure design, test execution and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor process and device physics.
  • Ability to collaborate with fab, technology and customer teams; strong problem-solving skills.
  • Fluency in English, written and verbal.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Minitab, JMP, FMEA, 8D.
  • Team player able to work under tight project timelines.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Electronics, Materials) or Physics, or PhD.
