Role Summary

The Modeling Design Engineer develops and validates analog, digital, and mixed-signal models for Lattice FPGAs. The role partners with design, verification, and internal model consumers to ensure model accuracy, performance, and usability.

The position includes technical leadership of the modeling team, delivering reliable, optimized models and clear documentation for use across product development.

Senior — requires 6+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include developing, validating, and maintaining circuit models used by design and verification teams.

• Develop and validate models for analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits used in FPGA products.
• Perform digital and mixed-signal simulations using Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog, and SPICE-based tools.
• Analyze simulation results and iterate on models to improve accuracy and performance.
• Optimize models for performance, accuracy, and computational efficiency.
• Collaborate with design engineers and internal customers to capture requirements and ensure model suitability.
• Document modeling assumptions, methodologies, and results for internal stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor circuit modeling engineers.
• Stay current with circuit modeling techniques and relevant tools.

Must-have:

• Proven experience in circuit modeling and simulation for analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits.
• Proficiency with SPICE and HDL-based simulation tools (Verilog, VHDL, SystemVerilog).
• Experience with SystemVerilog modeling and higher-level modeling with SystemC.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret simulation data and drive improvements.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Experience providing technical leadership or mentoring engineering team members.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering. The posting specifies 6+ years of experience in addition to the degree requirement.
