Job Title

ML Integration and Test Development Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and maintain automated test infrastructure and tooling to validate functional and performance behaviour of Arm ML software, systems and IP. Work with pre-silicon platforms and cross-functional teams to detect, reproduce and resolve issues affecting ML workloads.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Role targets experienced software/hardware engineers; typical background: several years of professional software engineering and testing experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on building and operating test systems, analysing results, and improving ML software quality:

  • Design and implement test infrastructure for fully automated test flows, including functional and performance tests.
  • Develop tooling for result visualization and automated report generation.
  • Run and analyse workloads on advanced pre-silicon systems to validate ML functionality and performance.
  • Implement and maintain C++ and Python components used in ML integration, runtimes, or test harnesses.
  • Investigate, debug and resolve complex software/hardware integration issues; provide clear technical documentation and handovers.
  • Contribute to technical design, take ownership of larger engineering efforts and mentor peers when appropriate.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Strong Python programming skills.
  • Professional C++ development experience and familiarity with complex software systems.
  • Practical experience with Machine Learning frameworks or tooling (for example, PyTorch).
  • Experience with software development or automated testing on Linux or macOS.
  • Debugging, performance analysis and problem-solving skills for software/hardware stacks.
  • Experience with collaborative development practices: source control, code review, testing and CI.
  • Strong communication skills and capacity to work across international, cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience building test infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub).
  • Familiarity with Docker, pre-silicon platforms, ML compilers, model execution flows or runtimes.
  • Experience with data analysis and result visualisation for test metrics.
