Job Title

ML and AI Physical Design Methodology Engineer

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's Networking silicon physical design team to develop ML/AI-driven methodology and automation that improve power, performance, and area (PPA) for high-speed communication chips. The role focuses on integrating ML solutions into production physical design flows and collaborating across place-and-route, timing, power, and verification teams.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The role expects several years of relevant experience; the posting requests 5+ years in ML/AI solution development.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include creating, integrating, and deploying ML-enabled solutions into physical design flows and improving PPA through data-driven methods.

  • Architect, integrate, and deploy ML/AI-driven solutions into production physical design flows.
  • Develop algorithmic and data-based analyses to identify and improve PPA issues.
  • Create flow and tool methodologies for place-and-route, timing analysis and closure, IR/EM and signal integrity, power and noise analysis, and back-end verification.
  • Collaborate on chip floorplanning, power and clock distribution, and chip assembly to enable automated solutions.
  • Automate workflows and integrate tools into repeatable production flows.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 5+ years' experience developing ML/AI-based solutions.
  • Proven track record implementing ML-based solutions in engineering workflows.
  • Strong Python and Tcl programming skills.
  • Familiarity with ML frameworks (training/inference pipelines and model deployment).
  • Experience designing and automating workflows and tool integrations.
