Job Title

Mixed Signal Logic Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and deliver RTL microarchitecture and logic for mixed-signal and high-speed IP blocks. Work with architecture, system, verification and SoC teams to optimize power, performance and area, and to ensure robust integration of IP into larger systems.

Position sits in a product engineering organization focused on IP development and enablement; hybrid work model (on-site at assigned Intel site and off-site) is eligible for this role.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical experience: 4–12 years with a Bachelor’s degree or 3–10 years with a Master’s degree (as stated in source).

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include implementing RTL and supporting IP delivery and integration.

  • Define microarchitecture and implement RTL using SystemVerilog for mixed-signal and high-speed IP blocks.
  • Collaborate with architecture and system teams to optimize power, performance and area (PPA).
  • Develop and maintain automation flows for front-end checks (Lint, CDC, synthesis QA) and design quality.
  • Perform power and performance analysis and drive area/power improvements.
  • Review verification plans, debug RTL issues, and ensure functional correctness.
  • Support SoC integration and delivery of IP modules to system teams.
  • Implement automation to assist with coverage closure and timing convergence.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.

  • Strong RTL development experience in SystemVerilog.
  • Proficiency with low-power design techniques (UPF, clock gating, multi-clock-domain design).
  • Experience with front-end quality tools such as Spyglass, VC Lint, CDC analysis and synthesis toolflows.
  • Experience with simulation and debug tools (e.g., VCS, Verdi).
  • Scripting for design automation (Perl, Python or TCL).
  • Experience supporting SoC integration and collaborating across cross-functional teams.
  • Nice-to-have: familiarity with DFI/DDR/LPDDR protocols and DDR PHY or memory controller designs.
  • Nice-to-have: pre-silicon and post-silicon validation, basic analog understanding for mixed-signal integration, experience with area and power optimization techniques.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field (as stated). The posting specifies 4–12 years' experience with a Bachelor's or 3–10 years with a Master's.
