Job Title
Mixed Signal Logic Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and implement complex mixed-signal and digital logic IP blocks for high-speed interfaces and system integration. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (analog, physical design, verification, and post-silicon validation) to define microarchitecture, deliver RTL, and support pre- and post-silicon bring-up.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typical candidates have roughly 3β10 years of relevant design experience.
Responsibilities
Deliver RTL and models for mixed-signal logic components and support their integration into larger IP and chip subsystems.
- Define architecture and microarchitecture specifications for logic components.
- Implement designs in RTL (SystemVerilog) and produce analog behavioral models for mixed-signal blocks.
- Run simulations and debug using digital, mixed-signal, and AMS simulation tools.
- Use RTL quality tools (lint, CDC analysis) and support adoption across the team.
- Support synthesis, timing closure, and handoff to physical design.
- Develop test plans and verification collateral with pre-silicon validation teams.
- Work with post-silicon validation to diagnose and resolve silicon issues.
- Coordinate and mentor junior designers as needed to deliver complex logic blocks.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Strong knowledge of standard digital design concepts, including FSM design techniques.
- Proficient in SystemVerilog for RTL and behavioral modeling.
- Experience with simulation and debug flows for digital and mixed-signal designs.
- Familiarity with computer architecture, microarchitecture concepts, and analog circuit basics (ADC/DAC, signal analysis).
- Experience designing and verifying multiple clock-domain systems.
- Experience producing high-level architecture and meeting internal/industry specifications.
- Comfortable working independently and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-have / Preferred skills.
- Proven ability to guide other designers and increase team productivity.
- Analog behavioral modeling experience and mixed-signal validation knowledge.
- Familiarity with High-Speed I/O protocols (UCIe, PCIe, USB, etc.).
- Scripting experience (Perl, bash/csh, Python) and front-end automation skills.
- Experience with low-power design techniques, power gating, and multiple power-domain design.
- Firmware development, packaging, and release experience.
- Experience using AI-assisted tools to improve IP design productivity.
- Strong analytical debugging and problem-solving skills.
Education Requirements
BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar field with 4+ years relevant experience OR MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar field with 3+ years relevant experience. Preferred candidates may have BS with 10+ years or MS with 8+ years of relevant experience.
