Job Title
Mixed Signal IP Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Perform functional verification of mixed-signal IP, including analog behavioral modeling, to ensure designs meet specifications. Work on verification plans, testbenches, and environments to validate microarchitecture, performance, power, and timing.
Collaborate with architects, RTL developers, and physical design teams to identify and resolve issues before silicon; maintain and improve verification infrastructure and methodology.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The posting indicates an expectation of 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include planning, executing, and improving mixed-signal verification efforts.
- Develop IP verification plans, testbenches, and verification environments for mixed-signal logic components.
- Create and use analog behavioral models to validate design intent against specifications.
- Execute verification plans and run system simulations to verify functionality, power, and timing.
- Replicate, root-cause, and debug issues in the presilicon environment; implement corrective measures for failing tests.
- Analyze waveform results, manage functional and code coverage, and drive verification closure.
- Collaborate with digital and analog architects, RTL developers, and physical design teams on microarchitectural verification and performance goals.
- Document test plans and lead technical reviews with design and architecture teams.
- Maintain and improve existing verification infrastructure, flows, and methodology.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in the role.
- Extensive experience in design verification and verification flow from testbench architecture to verification closure.
- Proficient in SystemVerilog and OVM/UVM methodologies.
- Experience with waveform debugging, functional coverage, code coverage, and verification closure processes.
- Experience with VCS NLP and non-NLP simulations and GLS.
- Strong debug and problem-solving skills; ability to reproduce and root-cause complex issues.
- Ability to multitask and collaborate with multiple teams across geographies; strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Nice-to-have: DDRPHY validation knowledge, familiarity with DFI/DDR/LPDDR protocols, scripting in Python or Perl, exposure to Formal Property Verification, Git/version control, and experience with AI-assisted tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
Education Requirements
The posting specifies the candidate must possess a BS or MS degree and indicates 10+ years of relevant industry experience. No specific fields of study or certification requirements were listed.
