Mixed Signal Engineer Intern
Role Summary
Hands-on internship on analog and mixed-signal design and automation. The intern will work with experienced engineers to develop circuit designs, apply machine learning to design automation, and support design-flow and lab evaluation activities.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship; intended for current undergraduate, master’s, or PhD students with relevant coursework or research.
Responsibilities
The intern will contribute to design, automation, simulation, verification, and lab evaluation tasks.
- Develop and validate machine learning models for analog design automation.
- Analyze design data, simulation results, and layout metrics to extract insights.
- Collaborate with design engineers to identify challenges and propose automation strategies.
- Support tool development and scripting to improve the design flow.
- Perform analog and mixed-signal circuit analysis, design, simulation, and verification in advanced CMOS nodes.
- Work with layout engineers to optimize physical design.
- Conduct lab evaluation and debug of pipeline ADCs; assist with test equipment setup and maintenance.
- Document findings and present progress to the team.
- Travel as required for role: up to 10%.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and tools for immediate contribution; nice-to-have items listed separately.

Must-have: Strong foundation in analog circuit design and mixed-signal systems.

Must-have: Experience with Python and machine learning libraries (for example scikit-learn or PyTorch).

Must-have: Familiarity with EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso and transistor‑level simulation (SPICE).

Education Requirements
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate, master’s, or PhD program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
