Mixed-Signal Design & Verification Engineer Lead
Role Summary
The Mixed-Signal Design & Verification Engineer Lead will lead, train, and mentor the Mixed-Signal Design team at Monolithic Power Systems (MPS). This role involves defining and developing the Mixed-Signal Design/Verification framework for complex digital and mixed-signal ICs, with a focus on products such as power management and signal management functions.
Experience Level
Senior level with a minimum of 8 to 12 years of experience in ASIC Mixed-Signal design.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include the following:
- Lead, supervise, mentor, and train the MPS Mixed-Signal Design Team.
- Supervise multiple projects to ensure quality metrics, deliverables, and schedules are met.
- Participate in the Mixed-Signal Design recruitment process.
- Conduct analog and mixed-signal design, verification, and validation for ongoing projects.
- Define and document analog-digital interfaces.
- Perform behavioral modeling of analog blocks and analyze architectural choices.
- Define, develop, integrate, and verify analog and mixed-signal IP.
- Run analog and/or digital mixed-signal simulations and debugging.
- Assist the Digital Design Team with timing, inputs/outputs, and DFT constraints.
- Support post-silicon validation and characterization.
- Collaborate closely with analog design, analog layout, digital design engineers, and digital verification teams.
Requirements
Required qualifications include:
- BSEE + 12 years or MSEE + 8 years of experience in ASIC Mixed-Signal design.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
- Solid leadership skills for managing multiple projects and teams.
- Comprehensive knowledge of ASIC development and silicon fabrication processes.
- Strong background in transistor-level and analog/mixed circuit design.
- Familiarity with noise, linearity, and other analog effects.
- Expertise with simulation tools such as Spectre and HSPICE.
- Proficiency with Cadence tools like ADE-L and ADE-XL.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with automotive and ASIL standards, various communication protocols (I2C, SPI, USB), and tools like GitLab is a plus.
Education Requirements
BSEE or MSEE in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
