Mixed Signal Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Work on analog and mixed-signal IP development for advanced process nodes as part of Intel's Central Engineering Group. The role focuses on designing, simulating, verifying, and optimizing analog circuits to meet power, performance, area, timing and yield targets while collaborating with architecture, layout and cross-functional teams.

Experience Level

Entry-level. Typical experience guidance: 0–1 years with a Bachelor's degree; 0 years with a Master's degree.

Responsibilities

Contribute to analog/mixed-signal IP development across design, verification and validation.

  • Design, develop and implement analog circuits for advanced process nodes.
  • Create floorplans, extract chip parameters and develop analog behavioral models.
  • Develop and execute test plans to verify circuit and block microarchitecture specifications.
  • Simulate and analyze test results to validate functionality and PPA (power, performance, area) goals.
  • Optimize circuits for performance, power, area and leakage.
  • Collaborate with architecture, layout and cross-functional teams to resolve design issues.
  • Report design progress and participate in design reviews.
  • Keep current with trends and advancements in analog circuit design.

Requirements

Must-have

  • Proficiency with circuit simulation tools and methodologies (SPICE or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of analog circuit design principles and PPA optimization.
  • Familiarity with challenges of advanced process nodes.
  • Ability to develop and execute verification and test plans and analyze results.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills for cross-functional work.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience working on analog or mixed-signal IP projects in a team setting.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and design optimization experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering is listed as the minimum or equivalent practical experience. Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
