Job Title

Mixed Signal Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for functional verification of mixed-signal IPs (for example PCIe, UCIE, USB4/Type-C PHYs) to ensure correctness, performance, and reliability before silicon. Works with cross-functional teams including digital and analog architects, RTL developers, and physical design engineers to define verification strategies and resolve issues.

Focuses on building verification plans, testbenches, simulation models, and debugging flows to validate mixed-signal microarchitecture and IP functionality.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Guidance: 4+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years with a Master's degree.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning, implementing, and executing verification for mixed-signal components and collaborating to close pre-silicon issues.

  • Develop IP verification plans, testbenches, and verification environments covering mixed-signal microarchitecture.
  • Create and execute simulation models to validate performance, power, and timing.
  • Perform analog behavioral modeling and verify mixed-signal logic components against specifications.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis, debug failing tests, and implement corrective fixes pre-silicon.
  • Collaborate with digital/analog architects, RTL developers, and physical design teams to refine designs.
  • Lead technical reviews of test plans and validation results; maintain verification documentation.
  • Improve verification methodologies, infrastructure, and tooling to meet evolving standards.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and tools for the role.

  • Proven hands-on experience in mixed-signal verification and IP verification using SystemVerilog, UVM, and Verilog.
  • Experience with industry-standard simulators (e.g., Synopsys VCS, Cadence Xcelium, Mentor Questa).
  • Scripting skills for automation and testbench development (Python, Perl, or Tcl).
  • Familiarity with standard protocols and interfaces such as JTAG, IJTAG, CRI, and APB; experience with multi-clock-domain mixed-signal designs.
  • Expertise in constraint-random test generation, coverage-driven verification, root-cause analysis, and complex debug flows.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working across multi-disciplinary teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, VLSI Engineering, or a related field. Experience guidance: 4+ years with a Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years with a Master's degree.
