Mixed Signal Design Verification Engineer
QualcommJob Title
Mixed Signal Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join Qualcomm's design verification team to verify high-speed mixed-signal IP (PCIe, USB, MIPI, CXL, C2C, D2D, DDR, PLL, DAC/ADC, sensors) used in 5G, AI/ML, compute, IoT, and automotive products. The team covers the full verification lifecycle from pre-silicon testbench and coverage to post-silicon validation and integration.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Typical candidates have around 6+ years of ASIC design verification or related experience; the posting lists experience ranges starting at 4+ years depending on degree level.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include architecting verification environments, implementing testplans, and coordinating with design and system teams to achieve coverage and silicon signoff.
- Define pre-silicon and post-silicon test plans from design specs and applicable standards.
- Architect and develop verification testbenches using SystemVerilog/UVM and AMS/mixed-signal methodologies.
- Author SystemVerilog assertions (SVA), develop testcases and coverage models, debug failures, and drive coverage closure.
- Perform low-power, formal, and gate-level verification as required and run relevant simulations.
- Collaborate with digital, analog, modeling, controller/subsystem, and SoC integration teams for PHY-level verification and system integration.
- Support post-silicon validation and debug activities.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items are listed separately.
- 6+ years of ASIC design verification or related experience (posting indicates various minimums depending on degree).
- Proficient in HVL methodologies such as SystemVerilog and UVM.
- Experience with commercial simulation and formal tools (examples: VCS, Xcelium/NCsim, Modelsim/Questa, VCFormal, JasperGold).
- Familiarity with analog/mixed-signal simulation and verification techniques.
- Scripting experience (Python, Perl) for testbench automation and regression management.
- Experience verifying mixed-signal IP (PCIe, USB, CXL, MIPI, UFS, LPDDR5/6, PLLs, DAC/ADC, sensors) is strongly preferred.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD in Science, Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field. The posting specifies equivalent experience alternatives: Bachelor’s +4 years, Master’s +3 years, or PhD +2 years of ASIC design/verification/validation/integration experience.
