Job Title

Mixed Signal Design Engineer - New College Grad 2026

Role Summary

Join NVIDIA's mixed-signal design team working on high-speed interfaces and analog circuits for next-generation NVLINK. The role focuses on schematic and transistor-level design, verification, layout collaboration, and post-silicon characterization.

The team delivers production integrated circuits in deep-submicron CMOS processes; this position involves hands-on circuit design, simulation, and support through silicon bring-up.

Experience Level

Entry-level - new college graduate. Typically 0–3 years of industry experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include design, verification, and characterization of high-speed analog/mixed-signal circuits and collaboration with layout and test engineers.

  • Develop and implement high-speed interfaces and analog circuits; work from concept through silicon characterization.
  • Define circuit requirements; perform schematic design and transistor-level optimization.
  • Use industry EDA tools for design and verification (Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, HSpice, etc.).
  • Provide floorplanning and guidance to layout engineers for matching and high-speed routing.
  • Support post-silicon bring-up, debugging, and characterization.
  • Create and run verification testbenches and behavioral models for component and top-level circuits.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for successful performance in this role.

  • Prior analog or mixed-signal circuit design experience in deep-submicron CMOS processes (especially FinFET).
  • Hands-on experience with analog circuit simulation and verification tools (Spectre, HSpice, Finesim, XA) and Cadence IC design environment.
  • Experience building testbench environments and behavioral models for analog and digital circuits.
  • Analog simulation skills: noise analysis, loop-stability, AC/DC/transient, Monte-Carlo.
  • Strong debugging and analytical skills; experience with post-silicon bring-up and silicon debug.
  • Ability to collaborate with layout engineers and cross-functional teams; strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with very high data rates (β‰ˆ25 Gbps and higher) and high-speed interface architecture ownership.

Education Requirements

Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is stated as the preferred qualification; equivalent practical experience is accepted. Fields referenced: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, related technical disciplines.

Compensation note: Base salary range listed by employer: 116,000 USD - 189,750 USD (location- and experience-dependent).
