Midcore Design Verification Engineer
TenstorrentJob Title
Midcore Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Verify high-performance out-of-order RISC-V CPU cores by developing verification strategies, building test environments, and uncovering functional corner cases. Work closely with CPU architects, RTL designers, and software engineers.
This is a hands-on role owning verification tasks from test-plan and testbench design through debugging and driving issues to closure. Position is remote; candidates should be based in North America or Spain.
Experience Level
Mid-level (Mid-Career). Requires 6+ years of design verification experience for CPUs, SoCs, ASICs, or other complex digital designs.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Define verification strategies and create test plans for CPU cores.
- Design and implement UVM/SystemVerilog testbenches and infrastructure.
- Develop constrained-random tests, assertions, and functional coverage.
- Debug simulation and RTL failures using waveforms and common simulation/debug tools.
- Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, and software engineers to reproduce and resolve bugs.
- Own verification deliverables and drive issues to closure.
Requirements
Must-have:
- 6+ years of design verification experience for CPUs, SoCs, ASICs, or other complex digital designs.
- Strong SystemVerilog and UVM skills (testbench development, constrained-random testing, assertions, functional coverage).
- Practical understanding of CPU architecture/microarchitecture (pipelines, out-of-order execution, caches, load/store, branch prediction).
- Experience debugging RTL and simulation failures using waveforms and common simulation/debug tools.
- Proficiency in C/C++ or Python for verification and tooling.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with RISC-V CPU cores and verification of high-performance processors (AI, HPC workloads).
Education Requirements
