MFG Data Scientist
Role Summary
Develop data-driven models, software, and automated processes to analyze semiconductor manufacturing data, enable yield learning, and provide early issue detection. Work with cross-functional manufacturing and product teams to consolidate diverse data sources, design experiments, and deliver actionable insights.
Focus is on scalable analytics and machine-learning solutions applied to inline metrology, defects, electrical tests, and probe data within semiconductor fabrication.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Model and correlate inline metrology, defect, etest, and probe data to support yield learning and early detection of process issues.
- Design, develop, and program methods, algorithms, and software to consolidate and analyze unstructured and diverse manufacturing datasets.
- Develop automated data-cleaning, integration, and evaluation pipelines for large, disparate data sources.
- Identify meaningful insights from large data and metadata; interpret and communicate findings to product, service, and business stakeholders.
- Collaborate across organizations to define analysis questions, design experiments, and deploy analytic solutions in manufacturing environments.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred qualifications:
Must-have:
- 5+ years of relevant experience in data science or analytics applied to manufacturing or related domains.
- Expertise in data and analytics techniques such as dimensionality reduction, causal analysis, and regression/classification models.
- Experience with supervised and unsupervised machine-learning algorithms and model development.
- Proficient in Python programming and interactions with databases for ML model development.
- Experience handling manufacturing data challenges (sampling issues, multicollinearity, multi-modal data) and building models for yield improvement.
Nice-to-have:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, time-management, and teamwork skills; ability to ramp quickly on new systems and drive results.
Education Requirements
Doctorate (PhD) in Electrical Engineering is required.
