Job Title

Memory Validation Intern

Role Summary

The Memory Validation Intern performs hands-on validation tasks for memory subsystems on Intel silicon products, supporting functional, power, performance and memory validation to verify product readiness before and after launch.

The role is part of a validation engineering team in the Data Center Group and focuses on debugging, data analysis, test automation support, and improving validation infrastructure and test environments.

Experience Level

Entry-level (internship). Suitable for students or early-career candidates; the role expects limited prior exposure to hardware validation. Some practical experience is expected (see Requirements).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include hands-on validation, debugging, and contributing to automation and infrastructure improvements.

  • Support functional, power, performance, and memory validation activities for silicon products.
  • Assist in debugging and root cause analysis of issues found during validation.
  • Perform data analysis on validation metrics to identify coverage gaps and quality issues.
  • Contribute to test automation: scripting, tool improvements, and workflow optimization.
  • Help develop and maintain validation infrastructure and lab test environments (hardware and software).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet validation milestones and ensure product readiness.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications and required conditions to be considered for the internship, followed by preferred skills.

Must-have:

  • At least 3 months of experience in signal integrity or electronic circuit analysis and basic data analysis techniques.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico (no visa or immigration sponsorship available).
  • Available to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with test automation, lab equipment integration, or writing validation scripts.
  • Knowledge of memory and silicon validation, power/performance characterization, or post-silicon debug methods.
  • Familiarity with oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, or protocol analyzers.
  • Understanding of computer architecture, buses, interfaces, or system-level debug concepts.
  • Experience with Linux, shell scripting, Python (Pandas), Excel, or large dataset analysis.
  • Prior hardware validation, embedded systems, or electronics lab project experience (academic or internship).

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field, with at least one year remaining before graduation.
