Role Summary

The Memory Mask Layout Designer will join the custom memory design team at Qualcomm. This entry-level role involves designing physical layouts for SRAM and custom memory circuits, using industry-standard CAD tools.

Experience Level

Entry-level; suitable for candidates with an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience. Bachelor's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

The role includes the following responsibilities:

  • Create physical layouts for SRAM and custom memory blocks using CAD tools.
  • Conduct layout verification, including DRC, LVS, and ERC.
  • Collaborate with circuit designers to meet performance and manufacturability requirements.
  • Maintain layout databases and manage design concepts and schedules.
  • Proactively solve design and PDK issues, and communicate solutions effectively.
  • Work as part of a global design team.

Requirements

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Must-have: Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of CMOS technology and IC design principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with scripting languages (SKILL, Python) for layout automation, and knowledge of advanced process nodes.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field is preferred, or an Associate’s degree with relevant experience.
