Memory Electrical Validation Engineer

Role Summary

The Memory Electrical Validation Engineer validates and optimizes electrical performance of memory IO interfaces, ensuring compliance with industry standards and production goals. The role focuses on signal integrity, margin analysis, debugging electrical and system-level issues, and improving validation infrastructure and procedures.

This position sits within the Silicon and Platform Engineering (SPE) group and collaborates across architecture, design, and verification teams to deliver reliable memory solutions.

Experience Level

Mid-level - typically requires 3+ years of hands-on industry experience in electrical validation or debugging.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include electrical validation, debugging, and development of test infrastructure for memory IO interfaces.

  • Define electrical validation strategies for memory IO interfaces to meet production and performance targets.
  • Validate analog circuit performance, signal integrity compliance, and system-level margins against standards.
  • Analyze and debug electrical and system-level failures; identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Optimize Memory Reference Code (MRC) requirements to improve margins and product stability.
  • Develop validation procedures, test designs, and infrastructure for margin evaluation and compliance testing.
  • Test electrical interactions between design features using advanced validation infrastructure and generate detailed test reports.
  • Partner with architecture, design, and presilicon verification teams to ensure DFT/DFM for IO architectures.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 3+ years of hands-on industry experience in electrical validation or debugging.
  • Proven ability to validate signal integrity and electrical performance of memory IO interfaces.
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving electrical and system-level issues.
  • Ability to design, analyze, and optimize validation procedures and test infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with compliance testing against industry-standard specifications.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with memory validation tools, techniques, and methodologies.
  • Experience developing validation strategies for complex mixed-signal architectures.
  • Strong collaboration skills across multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
