Job Title

Memory Design Engineer - SRAM and ROM

Role Summary

Join the Memory IP group to design, simulate, verify and characterize custom CMOS memory blocks (SRAM, ROM, register files) for integration as IP. The role is based in Bangalore and requires close collaboration with design, layout, technology, test and product engineering teams to deliver validated memory IPs for silicon.

Primary focus areas include circuit design, margining, timing and reliability analysis, layout verification and silicon bring-up support.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 6–20 years of industry experience as indicated in the posting.

Responsibilities

Accountabilities for this role include design, verification and delivery of memory IPs and support for silicon validation.

  • Design and develop CMOS memories: single-port and dual-port SRAM, register files, and ROM.
  • Create and run circuit simulations, margining and statistical analysis for memory circuits.
  • Design and verify peripheral circuits: decoders, sense amplifiers, write drivers, etc.
  • Verify bitcells and collaborate on physical layout and DRC/LVS sign-off.
  • Prepare and sign off IP for validation test chips; support silicon bring-up and characterization.
  • Participate in design and layout reviews and work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
  • Contribute process- and design-related improvements and automation ideas.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items are listed separately.

  • 6–20 years of practical experience in memory/analog/mixed-signal circuit design and characterization.
  • Proficient with EDA tools and circuit simulators (examples: Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre; HSPICE; Mentor/Synopsys tool usage).
  • Hands-on experience with SRAM memory design and peripheral circuits.
  • Circuit reliability and statistical analysis experience; margining and characterization expertise.
  • Ability to support silicon bring-up, validation test chips and cross-team collaboration.
  • Good technical verbal and written communication skills; able to work with multiple concurrent projects.

Nice-to-have:

  • Timing characterization and Verilog experience.
  • Analog/mixed-signal design flow experience and familiarity with Bulk, CMOS and SOI processes.
  • Programming skills for design-flow automation and experience with advanced nodes (45/32/28/14nm and below).
  • Experience working in international, multidisciplinary teams; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (VLSI, Microelectronics) or a related technical field is required; equivalent practical experience is acceptable. The posting specifies 6–20 years of industry experience.
