Memory Circuit Designer

Role Summary

Design, model, verify and support silicon bring-up of embedded memory (SRAM/ROM) circuits and associated IP for SoC products. Collaborate with layout, process, verification and system teams to meet performance, yield and integration targets.

Experience Level

Mid-level - typically requires multiple years of memory design experience; this role expects experienced engineers familiar with SRAM/ROM design and validation.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include end-to-end memory circuit work across design, modeling, verification and bring-up.

• Architect, design and optimize embedded SRAM/ROM bitcells and peripheral circuits.
• Perform circuit-level analysis and modeling (SNM, write margin, cell current, standby current, retention).
• Develop and validate critical-path and timing models using various modeling approaches (RC, C, Pai, ladder, distributive).
• Collaborate with layout, process, test and system teams to support yield, integration and silicon bring-up.
• Create verification plans, run simulations, debug circuit issues and support IP delivery.

Requirements

Key technical requirements and preferred skills.

• Must-have: Substantial memory design experience (preferably 5+ years) with hands-on work on SRAM/ROM.
• Must-have: Strong understanding of memory and digital circuit design and layouts.
• Must-have: Practical knowledge of bitcell characteristics and metrics (SNM, WM, leakage, retention).
• Must-have: Understanding of process variability and its impact on memory design; solid semiconductor device physics fundamentals.
• Must-have: Experience with critical path modeling and multiple model types (RC, C, Pai, ladder, distributive).
• Must-have: Familiarity with IC technology, IP design flows, verification and silicon debug.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with compiler-driven SRAM/ROM development flows and prior SoC/IP integration experience.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering or related field (with ~2+ years relevant experience); OR Master's in similar fields (with ~1+ year relevant experience); OR PhD in a related field. The posting allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of degree-based requirements.
